Mod Manager is a helpful tool for Empire: Total War, created. It’s a little program that makes installing and launching mods easy and convienient. It got so popular that plenty of mods actually require it to function. The program can detect the mod packs you have in your ETW data directory and allow you to enable/disable and order them as you please. When you launch the game from the mod manager, your user.empirescript.txt will be updated according to how you've set up your mods.
When you start the manager, it will detect which mods were configured last time and list those first in the list - any newly detected mod packs are sorted in alphabetical order. Also, don't worry about it overwriting your settings in user.empirescript.txt: Mod Manager will preserve any non-mod-related lines in that file. Once you check which mods you want enabled, you have to run the game from Mod Manager at least once to set the script up. After that, you can run the game any way.
Instructions: This software requires the.NET Framework 2.0. To use the Mod Manager extract it into game’s folder and launch ModManager.exe.
I've decided to go ahead and try the mod manager from nexus. I downloaded the most recent version and got some mods to try out. Amongst them were the pajama color change, dorian in black, Cullen bi romance, dorian with no mustache (just wanna see if it works cuz I prefer him with his adorable mustache haha) and the inventory expansion. I made my mod folder under C:/temp/Dai/Mods. I checked that the patch was the most recent one and even tried the rescan for new patch thingy on the mod manager. I also made sure the Merged folder was inside the Update folder where the game was installed.
For now I'd definitely use the mod manager, since that's what pretty much every dai mod requires. Don't worry about the guides being old, the set up is still the same. Trespasser with the mod manager will crash everything that edits a spec map, BE will crash if you try to enter with qunari cc mods loaded. Afaik those are really the only things. I've read and re read all the instructions and I don't know what I'm doing wrong but the mods are just not working once I've merged them. Could anyone shed some light perhaps? Thanks a lot for your attention guys. Much appreciated.
